Tuesday, June 05, 2012

The partners and staff of Little, Inglis, Price & Ewer LLP are pleased to advise that our senior partner, J.H. (Kim) Little, Q.C., has  been awarded the 2012 Award of Excellence in Real Estate from the Ontario Bar Association - Real Property Section.

According to the Ontario Bar Association:

"The Award of Excellence in Real Estate was created to recognize exceptional contributions and/or achievements in real estate law by members of the OBA in the following areas: teaching of real estate law; development of real estate law including lecturing, scholarly writing and lobbying; enhancement of the practice of real estate law; and leadership in the real estate bar, the government, the Law Society of Upper Canada and the OBA in relation to real estate issues, real estate legislation and the operation of the Land Registration System."

Kim Little certainly meets and exceeds the qualifications in all of these areas. He has been practicing real property law since his call to the bar over 50 years ago. He is a willing mentor to younger lawyers. He has also never turned down a request to assist those of his colleagues who turn to him for advice and direction with respect to any of the myriad details required to make a real estate transaction - from a simple house purchase to a major land development - a success.

He has lectured at the Bar Admission Course and has been an active participant at the provincial level in numerous working groups seeking to improve the practive of real property law for both practitioners and clients.

His efforts are tireless. His knowledge of real estate law is encyclopedic. His passion for the law is infectious.

We at Little, Inglis, Price & Ewer LLP are intensely proud of Kim. He has earned this award, and it is a testament to his standing in the legal community that he was named its recipient for 2012.
